TEOTIHUACAN PYRAMIDS

On this tour you will visit Teotihuacan "City of the Gods", named like this by the Aztecs when they saw it for the first time, and had them amazed for greatness, once the largest city of the ancient Mexico. And today one of the most visited archaeological sites in the Americas.

A professional guide will accompany you on a journey through the history of this mystical place, that will surprise you as it once must have surprised Mesoamerican ancient travelers who came from other cities of its time.

Our tour begins at Tlatelolco, today the largest archaeological site in Mexico City that formed part of the capital of the Aztec empire. Here was the biggest market of that empire and here was consummated the conquest of the Aztecs. Right there lies the Plaza of the Three Cultures where the prehispanic, colonial and present of Mexico get together.

After the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City, we continue our journey to Teotihuacan, "City of the Gods" which is northeast of Mexico City. On the way we will see the organized chaos on the suburbs of the city. Once in the Teotihuacan Valley first we will stop to recharge our batteries with Tequila tastings and other local spirits, where we also learn about the importance of obsidian for Teotihuacan ancient and modern economy and then give satisfaction to the body with rich Mexican food (food not included).

Once satisfied our palate and appetite we enter the archaeological site of Teotihuacan, here pleasantly the guide will tell us about the history of Teotihuacan, its mysteries, its development, its grandeur, its importance and its fall, then we will have free time for those wishing to climb the Pyramid of the Sun, Moon and walk through the famous "Avenue of the Dead".

PUEBLA Y CHOLULA

Full day tour to two beautiful and important historical sites, Cholula and Puebla, located just 2 hours from Mexico City and enrich your experience with a heritage interpreter guide who will accompany you to get you closer to the history and understanding of these places.

This tour will cross the mountains east of the city by a highway that offers breath taking views and beautiful landscapes of the volcanoes Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl, which can also be seen from Cholula, where we will visit and climb the largest pyramidal base in the world. The pyramid of Cholula which has a height of 64 meters and 400 meters on each side of its base being thus twice as large as that of Cheops in Egypt. From here we will admire the City of Cholula with its hundreds churches, one of which was built right there on top of the Great Pyramid.

Then we'll take you to see the impressive Church of St. Mary of Tonazintla indigenous Baroque, a breathtaking building, notable for its interior decorated in gold and wealth of its elements.

From there we head to the city of Puebla, located no more than 15 minutes drive from Cholula. Puebla is popularly known as the "City of Angels" there you can enjoy a tasty lunch, the gastronomic variety is rich in Puebla you can choose from a simple and traditional “ Semita” or the exquisite and laborious “mole poblano”.

Then we are going to have a walking tour through the beautiful historical center of this city, where you can see buildings from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century, also visit the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzman. Other points to go will Palafoxoiana Library, the forts of Loreto and Guadalupe, Alfeñique House Museum and the handicraft market where you can find beautiful works done in the traditional talavera or delicious sweets like sweet potatoes prepared on different flavors.

HIDALGO MAGICAL TOWN (REAL DEL MONTE)

You will visit Real del Monte magical tow to visit its streets. You will be able to eat typical regional food like tamales, pulque bread, and may other from the Hidalgo region. We will then travel to the English cemetery and will have free time for lunch and shopping. After we will go to Huasca de Ocampo to go visit the “Prismas Basálticos”, 30 meter tall columns of basalt rock that line a ravine through which water runs from the San Antonio Dam. The basalt columns were created by the slow cooling of volcanic lava. We will then visit the Hacienda San Miguel Regla. After this visit we will come back to Mexico City. In case there are travelers interested, they will have the opportunity to visit the Soccer Museum in Pachuca.
